The Story I Haven’t Told Yet.

So if you happen to visit this website frequently (even occasionally), or you happen to follow me on Tumblr, you’re probably wondering something:

“Where the hell is your new music? Are you EVER going to release something new?”

It’s hard to say what exactly happened, but let’s just say that 2011 was a year of growth.

Let me rephrase that. 2011 was a year of discovery.

Sometimes I wish I had musical reading glasses, so that anytime something seemed out of focus or distant, I could just slide the glasses onto my nose and re-examine things.

Well, needless to say, this “newfound perspective” came at a most inconvenient time. I was in the middle of some serious musical work/production, and asked myself:

            “Why am I doing this?”

By this, I don’t just mean music. I’m talking about the kind of self expression thats explored in a composition. When an artist has to compete with things like… dare I say… Justin Bieber and Nicki Minaj, to say what they want to say, it’s easy to lose sight of where the “pretty/self-indulgence” ends and the music begins.

I was working on a project, and I was a couple of tracks in when it hit me:

                         I’m not saying anything.

I was basically wasting my, as well as everyone else’s, time. A song is much more than a groove and a slangy phrase, people! And an album is much more than a playlist to party to… I thought I wanted to make money. I don’t.

                                               I want to make records.

All that to say, I almost released something that wasn’t real. And that is one of the biggest mistakes I could have ever made. I’m very happy that I caught myself beforehand.

So where did I go? Back to the beginning. I dug deep. Called off the nonsense, and wiped the slate clean.

This is where the discovery begins.

Because what you’re about to hear in the coming months are stories I have yet to tell. And they’re all very, very real.

With love for you and a love for real music,

            Chase

Get ready to cry, come 2:45.  Listen to this beautiful, heart-felt gem of a song by Daniella Mason ft. Chase Foster.  I’d suggest taking in The Letter in a quiet room, or the privacy of your car - because it is a tear jerker.

Welcome…

Hey folks,

Chase here. I switched over to the wonderful world of Tumblr because I wanted to find an easier way of connecting with you, the beautiful fans. Not to mention that I can post anything I want from my computer or phone at anytime. Therefore, we’re all about to make some magic.

Here’s what you can look forward to:

  • a new EP (which will be released this summer!)
  • crazy stories from the road (while I’m on tour with other wonderful artists.)
  • new songs (FREQUENTLY. I write songs for a living now, so I’ll be utilizing you for feedback!)
  • beautiful photos (Photography has always been a hobby of mine.)

….And many more things.

Hope you enjoy my website remix,

Chase
